No more than two shots separated winners from runners-up after Tuesday’s final round in the Northern Kentucky 7-Up championships at Boone Links.
Josh Moorman shot 74 both days and won the boys’ title with a 148, one shot ahead of ages 16-18 division runner-up Steve Rickels (149).
Blake Hamilton (151) took the boys’ 14-15 competition with a 151, two shots better than division runner-up Seattle Stein (153). Drew McDonald (158) won in boys’ 12-13, one shot ahead of Logan Gamm (159). Paul Huber (103) won the 27-hole, 11-under event, ahead of Michael Bracken (105). In girls’ play, Kia Bakunawa (167) won the Annika Division by one shot. Krista Power (168) finished second.

At the two day Tour event at Perry Park Golf Resort, Michael Bracken (46-44 – 90) secured his eighth tour win in the 11 & under Division. In the Girls Wie Division, Sydney Swingos (89-98 – 187) picked up her second win, which automatically qualifies her for the Tour Championship beginning July 27. In the Girls Annika Division, Krista Powers (78-78 -156) continued her perfect record on the 7-Up Tour, winning her division for the fourth time in four tries.
In the Boys 12-13 Division, Drew McDonald (80-74 – 154) picked up his sixth tour win. The tournament’s low scores were shot by Carter Hibbard (76-71 – 147) to win the Boys 14-15 Division, and Steve Rickels (77-70 – 147) to win the Boys 16-18 Division. Read the rest of this entry »
At Fairway Golf Club in Wheatley, Blake Adkins fired the low round of the day (74) to win the Boys 14-15 Division for the sixth time this season. Michael Bracken continued his strong play, picking up his seventh win in the 11 & under Division. In the Boys 16-18 Division, Michael Petering picked up his second consecutive win.
In the Girls Annika Division, Krista Powers picked up her third tour victory, while Sydney Swingo won for the first time in the Girls Wie Division. In the Boys 12-13 Division, Cody Kellam was a first time winner. Read the rest of this entry »
